Ennoble the doorway you need to start with the size of the arch. Noting its height, you need to add 5 cm to it. Then, for the manufacture of the arch, you need to select the source materials, where they can be polystyrene foam, wood or drywall. But the most reliable is drywall. Also, do not forget about waterproofing the ceiling, as this issue plays an important role.
After preparing the opening and acquiring the necessary materials, you can proceed to the design of the arch. Guides, which will be some kind of support for the arch, are attached to the doorway. Then the distance from the ceiling to the horizontal guide at the bottom and the width of the opening are measured.
Then the measurements taken must be transferred to drywall. With a homemade compass from a wooden slat with a nail, you need to draw the circle of the future arch. Cut along the drawn line with a jigsaw. The second arch is also being made. Arched blanks are installed on vertical and horizontal guides on both sides with self-tapping screws. Then you need to make slopes from the guide profile.
When installing cut sheets of drywall, you need to match the guides around the circumference. Two halves are connected by a small section of the profile. At the end, the resulting structure is puttied and painted over.
